Inspired by our feature story on oyster cultivation, we gathered at the home of Dr. Catherine Everett and Mr. Joe Goins in New Bern to celebrate North Carolina's favorite bivalve with a traditional Eastern North Carolina oyster roast on December 12th. Oysters were generously provided and roasted by B&J Seafood of New Bern, accoutrements by Boiler Room Oyster Bar of Kinston, libations by Mother Earth Brewing of Kinston, Broadslab Distillery of Benson and Minges Bottling Group of Ayden. We ate, danced and sang all afternoon with the help of Merchants Road Band of New Bern. Thank you to our fantastic hosts, all of our generous sponsors and guests who helped us celebrate the oyster and finish our Kickstarter campaign strong!
